Soccer Game Preview: Excelsior Classical Academy vs. Eno River Academy

Excelsior Classical Academy hasn't had much luck against Eno River Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions will face off against the Eno River Academy Bobcats at 5:45 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

If Eno River Academy heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Excelsior Classical Academy took over last week. Excelsior Classical Academy blew past Triangle Math & Science 5-1 on Monday. That looming 5-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Flying Lions yet this season.

They hit Triangle Math & Science with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Haley Carroll (2), Rubi Giron, Shadiamond Francis-Service, and Madison Fitzpatrick.

Meanwhile, Eno River Academy kept a clean sheet against Graham on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over the Red Devils. Considering the Bobcats have won three matchups by more than five goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Something new happened on Thursday as Leiden Schofield saw her first action of the season, playing five minutes against Graham. Schofield made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

The victory made it two in a row for Excelsior Classical Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those two games. As for Eno River Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Excelsior Classical Academy might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Eno River Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Excelsior Classical Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
