Basketball Recap: Perth Amboy Vo-Tech Takes a Loss

After soaring to 56 points the game before, Perth Amboy Vo-Tech was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They lost to the Metuchen Bulldogs at home by a 42-26 margin. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 61-45 to them when the teams met back in January of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Metuchen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Hayes-Durina, who posted 14 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Matt Smith, who had nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Perth Amboy Vo-Tech's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Metuchen, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Coming up, Perth Amboy Vo-Tech will welcome Keyport at 5:30 p.m. on February 14th. One thing working in Keyport's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Metuchen, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-42 victory against Piscataway Vo-Tech on the 11th.
