Basketball Recap: Belfast Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Belfast lost against Lincoln Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The game between the Belfast Lions and the Lincoln Academy Eagles didn't end well, with the Belfast Lions falling 66-50. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Belfast saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trevin Ripley went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Benjamin, who posted 17 points and five rebounds.

Belfast's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4. As for Lincoln Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

While Belfast had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
