Basketball Recap: Truckee Comes Up Short

Truckee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 63-42 to the South Tahoe Vikings. The Wolverines were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

South Tahoe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kai McClain led the charge by going 8 of 16 en route to 19 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Oscar Mendoza, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Truckee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for South Tahoe, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Truckee has already played their next contest (against Wooster), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Tahoe will challenge Hug at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
