Volleyball Game Preview: Vista del Lago Ravens vs. Poly Bears

The Vista del Lago Ravens will take on the Poly Bears at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Vista del Lago and JW North had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Vista del Lago walked away with a 3-1 victory over JW North on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Ravens have beaten the Huskies on their court since March 7, 2022.

Vista del Lago was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 19-25, 25-22, 25-22.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Poly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Arlington on Tuesday.

Poly never let Arlington on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 27-25.

Vista del Lago's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10. As for Poly, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Vista del Lago took their win against Poly when the teams last played back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Vista del Lago repeat their success, or does Poly have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
