Soccer Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

Hillcrest lost against Murray on April 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Huskies fell 4-2 to the Spartans. While losing is never fun, Hillcrest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 54th, while Murray are ranked ninth).

Christian Case and Lucas Felix scored both of Hillcrest's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Hillcrest has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four matches. As for Murray, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Hillcrest will be playing at home against Cottonwood at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillcrest will be up against Cottonwood's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.33 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Murray, they will venture away from home to challenge Tooele at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tooele will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Murray surely won't give up without a fight.
