The Central Bucks South Titans will face off against the Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Bucks South's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Holy Ghost Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between Central Bucks South and Central Bucks East, and Central Bucks East kept the tradition alive. The Titans fell 8-4 to the Patriots on Monday.
Central Bucks South got a good showing from Luke Hillegass, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Owen Pinkerton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Luke Poley was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Holy Ghost Prep got themselves on the board against Dock Mennonite on Monday, but Dock Mennonite never followed suit. They blew past the Pioneers 10-0. Considering the Firebirds have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Matt Riendeau made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Holy Ghost Prep got a massive performance out of Eddie Rosado, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Rosado has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Colin Davis, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Holy Ghost Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Holy Ghost Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Central Bucks South, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
