Baseball Recap: Antlers Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Antlers had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 13-3 to the Broken Bow Savages on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Savages: they've now lost three in a row.

Antlers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Hill, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Hill has posted since back in March of 2024. Case Moore was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

The win (which was Broken Bow's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antlers will host Kremlin-Hillsdale at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kremlin-Hillsdale's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Antlers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Broken Bow, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Idabel at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
