Football Recap: University Christian Piles Up the Points Against Santa Fe

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University Christian). They claimed a resounding 49-17 win over the Santa Fe Raiders. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

University Christian found their leader in sophomore Donovan Moss, who rushed for 209 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries. Those 209 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Moss. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalil Thompson, who threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns.

University Christian's run defense was locked in: Santa Fe could only muster 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Uriah Caguimbal for the heroic effort on defense: he. University Christian didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.8.

Although Santa Fe took the loss, they still got scores from Dantre Little and Jasiah Powell.

The victory was the fourth in a row for University Christian, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.3 points over those games. As for Santa Fe, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.

Looking ahead, University Christian will take on True North Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 928 yards in their previous games. As for Santa Fe, they will face off against Newberry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
