Basketball Game Preview: Elm Creek Buffaloes vs. Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons

Elm Creek is 8-2 against Wilcox-Hildreth since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Elm Creek Buffaloes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Elm Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season.

Elm Creek will head into Friday's matchup on the come-up: they were handed a 31-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. Meanwhile, Wilcox-Hildreth played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 67-37 loss at the hands of Kenesaw. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 117th).

This is the second loss in a row for Wilcox-Hildreth and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Elm Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Everything came up roses for Elm Creek against Wilcox-Hildreth when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-28 win. In that game, Elm Creek amassed a halftime lead of 38-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
