Godinez Fundamental came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.7 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Segerstrom Jaguars by a score of 3-1. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Jaguars are ranked 617th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sebastian Mejia and Dominic Resendiz scored all three of Godinez Fundamental's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Godinez Fundamental has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-1-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Segerstrom, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7-3.
