Basketball Recap: Malden Takes a Loss

Malden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Medford Mustangs, falling 60-40. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Tornados this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-31 back in December of 2024.

Malden's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Medford, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Malden will venture away from home to face off against Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Medford, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lynn Classical at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lynn Classical knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Medford likes a good challenge.
