Volleyball Game Preview: Howell Highlanders vs. Northville Mustangs

Howell is 0-9 against Northville since September of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Howell is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since October 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Novi.

Howell couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Novi a tough time in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 26-24, 30-28.

Meanwhile, Northville came up short against Brighton on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-22.

Howell will have to contain Kate Byers as she made an impact in Northville's last game. She had 11 digs. Skylar Marteen also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Howell's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Northville, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-7.

Howell suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Northville when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
