Softball Recap: Steele Comes Up Short

Steele has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.05 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Avon Lake Shoremen by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Comets have suffered since April 2nd.

Nevaeh Sadler led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Jackson, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Steele's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Avon Lake, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Steele has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against North Ridgeville on the 30th. As for Avon Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-3 loss against Avon on the 30th.
