Volleyball Game Preview: Union Academy Cardinals vs. South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls + How To Watch

Union Academy has gone 8-2 against South Stanly recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cardinals are taking a road trip to take on the Rowdy Rebel Bulls at 6:00 p.m. Union Academy will be strutting in after a victory while South Stanly will be coming in after a loss.

South Stanly will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Union Academy extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. Everything went the Cardinals' way against Gray Stone Day as they made off with a 3-0 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 29, 2022, but that streak is no more.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-21, 25-8.

Union Academy found their leader in sophomore Lily Hammonds, who had 15 digs. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Hammonds.

Meanwhile, South Stanly came up short against North Stanly on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Rowdy Rebel Bulls in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost eight in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13, 25-15.

Union Academy's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for South Stanly, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Union Academy took their win against South Stanly when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
