Basketball Recap: Johnston's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Johnston had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 53-36. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Jaguars are ranked 161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory got Johnston back to even at 9-9. As for Ankeny Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Johnston has already played their next matchup (against Norwalk), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ankeny Centennial will challenge Southeast Polk at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southeast Polk's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
