Baseball Game Preview: Lake Howell Silverhawks vs. University Cougars

The Lake Howell Silverhawks will take on the University Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. University took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Howell, who comes in off a win.

University will be up against a hot Lake Howell squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Lake Howell came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Seminole. That's two games straight that the Silverhawks have won by just one run.

Diego Miranda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Lake Howell is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Michael Ramos was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Joseph Lehnen was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, University came up short against Lake Buena Vista on Friday and fell 7-3.

University saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adriel V?zquez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI. Robert Estevez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

University's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Lake Howell, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Lake Howell took their win against University in their previous matchup back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 15-1. Does Lake Howell have another victory up their sleeve, or will University turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
