Baseball Game Preview: Somerville Highlanders vs. Revere Patriots

The Somerville Highlanders will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Revere Patriots at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Somerville's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Revere has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Monday just wasn't the day for Somerville's offense. They fell 3-0 to Lynn Classical on Monday.

Meanwhile, Revere didn't have quite enough to beat Everett on Monday and fell 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by just one run.

Domenic Bellia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Brendan Sack was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Somerville's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Revere, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Somerville skirted past Revere 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
