Recap: Mulberry Panthers vs. Discovery Spartans

The Mulberry Panthers stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Discovery, posting a 61-27 victory on the road. Given Mulberry's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Discovery is ranked 613th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mulberry is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Discovery, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mulberry will take on Plant City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Plant City has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Mulberry will arrive with four straight wins. As for Discovery, they will be playing at home against Auburndale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Auburndale comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
