Basketball Recap: Covenant Classical Piles Up the Points Against Socrates Academy

On Thursday, the Covenant Classical Warriors humbled the Socrates Academy Owls with a 57-12 victory. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Covenant Classical was led to victory by Amelia Miller and Reece Morro. Miller went 10-for-16 to rack up 23 points and four steals, while Morro posted 18 points and six steals. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Brooke Rader, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Covenant Classical and bumps their season record up to 9-9. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.5 points over those games. As for Socrates Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, Covenant Classical will challenge Oak Level Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Socrates Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
