Verdugo Hills proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Kennedy Cougars 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dons also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Jack Iafrate, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Verdugo Hills' victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-11. As for Kennedy, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Verdugo Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
