Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Tigers vs. Mineral Ridge Rams

Springfield is 8-2 against Mineral Ridge since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Springfield Tigers will host the Mineral Ridge Rams at 12:30 p.m. Springfield is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Springfield was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-33 to Walsh Jesuit.

Springfield might have lost, but man, Jameka Brungard was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Brungard is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Meanwhile, Mineral Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat Columbiana on Monday and fell 46-44.

Springfield now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Mineral Ridge, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.

Springfield came up short against Mineral Ridge in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 58-49. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mineral Ridge's Ava Hulett, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds.
