Calverton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They breezed past the Rockbridge Academy Scots to the tune of 57-24. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-15.

Calverton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Donavan Harris, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 21 points along with seven boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Reid, who went 6-for-11 en route to 13 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Looking ahead, Calverton will head out on the road to square off against The Gunston School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rockbridge Academy, after both having extra time off, they and Covenant Life will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026.
