Basketball Recap: Smoky Valley Takes a Loss

Smoky Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 64-19 loss at the hands of the Hesston Swathers. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Smoky Valley still got an impressive performance from Ty Heitschmidt, who posted ten points and six rebounds. That was a full 52.6% of Smoky Valley's points, marking the fourth time in a row Heitschmidt has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Smoky Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Hesston, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-2.

Looking ahead, Smoky Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Halstead at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hesston, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-40 victory against Sunrise Christian Academy on the 17th.
