Basketball Recap: Orem Comes Up Short

Orem extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-16. They were beaten by the Provo Bulldogs 65-24. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-21 on January 9th.

As for Provo, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Provo found their leader in sophomore Sage Yenchik, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 17 points and six assists. Yenchik has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Asha Alletto was another key player, as she made all 5 shots she took to post 12 points and five rebounds.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Orem will take on rival Summit Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Provo is set to square off against their familiar foe Timpanogos at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
