Basketball Recap: Chesnea Cochren Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Mclouth

Jackson Heights won the last time they faced McLouth and things went their way on Friday too. The Jackson Heights Cobras walked away with a 37-30 victory over the McLouth Bulldogs.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chesnea Cochren, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Cochren has posted since back in December of 2024. Savannah Cattrell was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Jackson Heights picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-14. As for McLouth, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12-1.

Jackson Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-28 defeat against Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy on the 20th. As for McLouth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 44-34 loss against Atchison County on the 17th.
