Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Comes Up Short

Santa Fe lost against Bridgeland back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Santa Fe Indians fell 53-42 to the Bridgeland Bears. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Santa Fe lost, don't look at Aidan Jewell. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 47.6% of Santa Fe's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Crable, who had four points along with 17 boards and four blocks.

Santa Fe has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Bridgeland, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Santa Fe and Sterling will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Santa Fe is facing Sterling at the right time seeing as Sterling is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bridgeland, they will take on Cypress Park at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
