Booker T. Washington picks up ninth straight win at home

Recap: Booker T. Washington Wildcats vs. West Florida Jaguars

The Booker T. Washington Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. Everything went their way against West Florida as Booker T. Washington made off with a 70-44 win. The result was nothing new for Booker T. Washington, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Booker T. Washington found their leader in underclassman Chamiah Francis, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Francis has scored at least 25% of Booker T. Washington's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Dees, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.

West Florida's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amani (AB) Bartholomew, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Bartholomew's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Nylah Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Booker T. Washington pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for West Florida, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Booker T. Washington will square off against Fort Walton Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fort Walton Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Booker T. Washington is ranked seventh). West Florida won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Niceville at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th.
