Softball Recap: Myrtle Beach Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Myrtle Beach had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Waccamaw Warriors by a score of 11-7 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Seahawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Lilly Langway made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Langway was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trinity King, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shianne Needle, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Myrtle Beach was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Myrtle Beach picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-14. As for Waccamaw, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Myrtle Beach will be playing at home against North Myrtle Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waccamaw, they are taking a road trip to face off against Loris at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
