First Flight has gone 8-2 against Hertford County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Nighthawks will square off against the Bears at 5:00 p.m. First Flight is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

First Flight took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Camden County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Nighthawks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bruins on Friday, sneaking past 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Nighthawks have posted since April 23, 2024.

Riley Gilreath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Schuyler Wilson was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kendall Schnader also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hertford County's offense. They lost 18-0 to Ridgecroft on Wednesday. The Bears' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Hertford County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for First Flight, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
