Baseball Recap: Henry County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Henry County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Plano Reapers 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since May 11, 2024.

Jeremiah Townsend looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Noah McClure and Chase Cameron did most of the damage at the plate: McClure scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Cameron scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Henry County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-4. As for Plano, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Henry County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-4 win against Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Plano, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-4 defeat against Mendota on the 31st.
