No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) finished the regular season undefeated with a 38-14 win over No. 15 Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.). It was the Monarchs sixth win against a MaxPreps Top 25 opponent. Jordon Davison and Dash Beierly both had rushing scores in the first quarter to give the Monarchs a 16-14 lead.

Davison added two more rushing touchdowns in the second quarter to give Mater Dei a 31-14 halftime lead. Beierly connected with Gavin Honore for the only score of the second half to give the Monarchs a 38-14 lead with 1:01 left in the third quarter.

The Monarchs will be the top seed in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs when the seeding is announced on Sunday. They head into the playoffs 9-0 and have won every game by double digits.

No. 17 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.) dominated No. 5 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) and rolled to a 30-3 win in the Panthers first home game of the season. It was the fifth consecutive win for the Baltimore power.

Junior safety Wayne Henry had a 66-yard pick-six to put away any chance of IMG Academy's comeback. That made it 30-3 with 6:23 remaining.

It was the worst loss for the Ascenders since Blake Corum led St. Frances Academy to a 35-7 win in 2019.
