Westwood is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Mexia is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. It was a proper cat-fight when Westwood took on Teague on Friday. Westwood simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Teague 87-33. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Lions are ranked 1161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mexia strolled past Groesbeck with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 75-59. The Black Cats pushed the score to 60-40 by the end of the third, a deficit the Goats cut but never quite recovered from.

Mexia is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Westwood, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
