Preview: Vermillion vs. Elk Point-Jefferson
On Friday Elk Point-Jefferson take on Vermillion at 7:00 PM. Elk Point-Jefferson will be hoping to build upon the 21-12 win they picked up against Vermillion the last time they played.
Things haven't been easy for Elk Point-Jefferson, and their matchup last Friday only extended their streak of losses to five. Last Friday, they were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 17-22 to Sioux Valley.
Meanwhile, Vermillion have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte as they made off with a 47-16 victory. Vermillion were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Vermillion's win lifted them to 2-5 while Elk Point-Jefferson's loss dropped them down to 2-5. We'll see if Vermillion's success rolls on or if Elk Point-Jefferson are able to steal their positive momentum.
