Softball Recap: Canyon View Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Canyon View hadn't done well against Carbon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Falcons walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Dinos. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Dinos back in March, they had to take a 9-3 loss.

Elli John spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Peyton King was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Canyon View pushed their record up to 5-15 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Carbon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canyon View will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Emery at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Carbon, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Manti at 3:30 p.m.
