The Boerne Greyhounds will square off against the Pioneer Diamondbacks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boerne will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Boerne is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They really took it to Ray for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-13 win. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won six contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Grant Sweeney and Tripp Thompson. Sweeney had a great game and rushed for 85 yards and one score on only eight carries. Meanwhile, Thompson did his best for the losing side, throwing for 200 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 54 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Boerne's defense and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ben Bays and Cash Gatlin, who racked up all four sacks between them. Gatlin has been hot for a while, having also posted six or more total tackles the last nine times he's played.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last matchup, Pioneer made sure to put some points up on the board against Edcouch-Elsa on Friday. The Diamondbacks were the clear victors by a 42-21 margin over the Yellowjackets. Considering the Diamondbacks' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Boerne better keep an eye on William Goodloe. He was instrumental in Pioneer's win, rushing for 107 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 66 yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 56 yards.
Pioneer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Boerne's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Pioneer, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Boerne has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 296.8 passing yards per game.
