Volleyball Recap: CHESS Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Sierra Schappacher and Halle Carroll

CHESS Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Spring Valley Academy. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Spring Valley Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

CHESS Christian took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 27-29, 24-26, 25-15, 15-9.

CHESS Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Halle Carroll, who had 20 digs and two aces, and Sierra Schappacher, who had 21 digs. Lydia Young also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

CHESS Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Spring Valley Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Looking ahead, CHESS Christian will take on Temple Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Spring Valley Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
