Softball Recap: Delmarva Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Archmere Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delmarva Christian). They blew past the Archmere Academy Auks 15-3 on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Kylie McCabe made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Taylor Lowe and Eve Bohinski did most of the damage at the plate: Lowe went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Bohinski got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Braelyn Hellens, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Delmarva Christian pushed their record up to 4-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Archmere Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Coming up, Delmarva Christian will venture away from home to face off against Smyrna at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Archmere Academy, they will host Delcastle Technical at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
