Volleyball Recap: Franklin County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

The Franklin County Lions didn't have quite enough to beat the Athens Academy Spartans on Thursday and fell 2-1.

Franklin County might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Athens Academy: every set was decided by two points or less. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Athens Academy found their leader in freshman Riley Muir, who had 13 digs and two aces. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Muir.

Franklin County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Athens Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coincidentally, Franklin County and Athens Academy will both be playing Jefferson the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
