Baseball Recap: Prairie Central Hawks vs. Herscher Tigers

After flying high against Rantoul last Thursday, Prairie Central came back down to earth. The Prairie Central Hawks suffered a rough 7-1 loss at the hands of the Herscher Tigers on Saturday. Prairie Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Herscher apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Prairie Central got a good showing from Luke Ifft, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also didn't allow any walks).

At the plate, Prairie Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collin Hartman, who went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

On Herscher's side, Nash Brubaker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Brubaker was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and a double.
