Preview: Walton Braves vs. Ribault Trojans

Walton has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Ribault Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Walton and West Florida squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly Walton had to settle for second. They took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. The match was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Walton couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the defeat, Walton had strong showings from Elijah Neenan, who scored 11 points along with two steals, and Santego Austin, who scored seven points along with two steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Ribault's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Andrew Jackson. While losing is never fun, Ribault can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Andrew Jackson is ranked 11th).

Despite the loss, Ribault got a solid performance out of Caleb Williams, who scored 33 points.

Walton's record now sits at 20-6. Ribault's record is now 20-7.
