If Minor wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wenonah, they should've done a better job of containing Samarian Franklin. The Wenonah Dragons walked away with a 54-42 victory over the Minor Tigers on Saturday thanks in part to Franklin, who went 9 for 21 on her way to 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Her afternoon made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.
The team also got some help courtesy of Aariyanah Parker, who posted six points along with 14 boards and four blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played.
The win was the fourth in a row for Wenonah, bringing their record for this year to 15-3. As for Minor, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wenonah will take on Sipsey Valley in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
