California had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Belle on Monday. The Pintos blew past the Tigers 11-3. The result was nothing new for the Pintos, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was California's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Belle, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

California has already played their next contest, an 8-1 win against Linn on the 16th. As for Belle, they will square off against Cuba at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
