Baseball Recap: Lindbergh Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Lindbergh hadn't done well against Eureka recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Flyers walked away with a 4-1 win over the Wildcats. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Austin Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ethan Cantareira was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Lindbergh pushed their record up to 22-10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Eureka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

Lindbergh will face off against North Point at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eureka, they will head out on the road to face off against Marquette at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
