Basketball Recap: Prince of Peace's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Prince of Peace was the 73-55 winner over Pantego Christian when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Prince of Peace Eagles took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pantego Christian Panthers on Tuesday. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 13-9 in the first quarter.

Pantego Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aj Brooks, who posted 17 points. Brooks has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Jackson, who scored 12 points.

With the defeat, Prince of Peace broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-14. As for Pantego Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Covenant the next time they take the court. Prince of Peace will host Covenant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Pantego Christian will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
