Volleyball Recap: Pelion Takes a Loss

Pelion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Batesburg-Leesville. If Pelion was looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to Batesburg-Leesville when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Pelion ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-18.

Alexia Hansen paced Pelion's offense, picking up seven kills. Hansen got some help from Hayley Maxwell and her 12 assists. Finally, Savanna Padgett kept Pelion's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Pelion's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-1. As for Batesburg-Leesville, their victory ended a five-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Pelion will take on rival Ninety Six at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Batesburg-Leesville is set to face off against their familiar foe Saluda at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
