Baseball Recap: Hermitage Sets Scoring Season-High Against John Marshall

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hermitage). They put the hurt on the John Marshall Justices with a sharp 12-2 victory on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Justices recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Nathan Legano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan O'Brien, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season. Brody Davis was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Hermitage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Hermitage's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for John Marshall, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
