Basketball Game Preview: Center Grove Trojans vs. Jennings County Panthers

The Center Grove Trojans will face off against the Jennings County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Center Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Center Grove got the win against Carmel by a conclusive 62-38. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Center Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lilly Bischoff, who went 6 of 12 en route to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Bischoff a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Gracyn Gilliard, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points.

Center Grove was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Jennings County challenged Rushville on Saturday. Jennings County came out on top against Rushville by a score of 49-36.

Jennings County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Center Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.

Center Grove beat Jennings County 64-57 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Center Grove since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
