Basketball Game Preview: Tooele Buffaloes vs. Stansbury Stallions

Tooele and Stansbury are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Tooele Buffaloes will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Stansbury Stallions at 7:00 p.m. Tooele is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Tooele came up short against Hillcrest on Tuesday, falling 54-30. The contest marked the Buffaloes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Tooele's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Crew Lewis, who posted ten points, and Grady Symonds, who had eight points and 11 rebounds. Braxton Polson also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first board of the season.

Meanwhile, Stansbury came up short against Cottonwood on Friday and fell 69-62. The Stallions have struggled against the Colts recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Stansbury's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Tooele, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.

Tooele ended up a good deal behind Stansbury in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 71-54. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Stansbury's Tegan Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. Now that Tooele knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
