Basketball Recap: Schaumburg Christian Takes a Loss

If Schaumburg Christian was feeling good fresh off their 70-16 takedown of Families of Faith Christian Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Schaumburg Christian Conquerors fell 51-44 to the Cristo Rey St. Martin CRSM on Tuesday. The Conquerors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the CRSM earlier this season, when they won 65-61.

Despite the loss, Schaumburg Christian still got an impressive performance from Lucas Bustamante, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 17 points and four steals. Bustamante has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. David Saenz was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Schaumburg Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Cristo Rey St. Martin, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season.

Schaumburg Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cristo Rey St. Martin, they will challenge Richmond-Burton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
